St James, Louth
Louth is the ancestral home of the Sheens family prior to their emigration to Australia. Tim's great great grandfather Henry Sheens, who emigrated to Australia with his mother and step-father and their children in 1853 was baptised at St James. His father and mother were married at St James in 1832, and his father and grandfather were buried there in 1847 and 1848 respectively.

Prior to World War II, the Old St Mary's Cemetery was cleared and the headstones were stacked along a fence line. The area was used for an anti-aircraft battery during Word War II and is currently used as a recreational space.

The Wheatsheaf Inn is within sight of Louth St James. the painted legend says that it was established in 1627. It is tempting to think that some Sheens ancestors may have drunk here at some stage - hopefully after, not before, visiting St James.
