At St. Nicholas' Church, Penrith, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, Nuptial Mass was held, when Lola Cecilia, daughter of Mr and Mrs Daniel Smith, of Blaxland, was married to Mr John Clifton O'Farrell, son of Mr and Mrs V. The bride, who was given away by Mr Allan Smith, wore grandstand silk with train and veil, and her bouquet was of hyacinths and stocks. The bridesmaid was Miss Mary Jean Cur ran, of Belmore, cousin of the bridegroom. She wore pale blue moire taffeta, with a bouquet of pink carnations and blue lupins. The best man was Mr Thomas O'Farrell, brother of the bridegroom.
The reception was held in Mrs Elston's rooms, High Street. Mrs Smith, mother of the bride, wore a floral frock with coat toning, and Mrs O'Farrell, mother of the bridegroom, a navy blue ensemble. The usual toasts were honoured.
Guests included relatives from Orange, Bathurst, Ben Bullen, Portland, and the suburbs.
