OBITUARY
MRS. M. A. MCCONNELL
All sections of the Labor Movement were represented yesterday at the funeral at Rookwood cemetery of Mrs. Mary Ada McConnell, 79, of Dulwich Hill, whose death occurred on Wednesday at Lewisham Private Hospital after a brief illness.
The late Mrs. McConnell, who was the mother of Miss Winnie McConnell, accountant, of the A.L.P. office, and Mr. Doug. McConnell, of "The Labor Dally" advertising staff, was an ardent supporter of Labor all her life.
A resident of Dulwich Hill formany years, the late Mrs. McConnell was highly respected throughout the district, end her death is a severe blow lo the Labor Movement.
The funeral left St. Brigld's Church, Marrickvllle, following a Requiem Mass.
The chief mourners were Miss W. M. McConnell. Mr. and Mrs. W. K. McConnell, Mr., and Mrs, R. McConnell, Mrs. and Mrs. D. J. McConnell, Mr. H, McConnell, and Mr, and Mrs. C. A. Sapsford, Miss A. McCrystal (Goulburn), Messrs. J. and P. Kennedy, of Goulburn (brothers), Mesdames J. and P. Kennedy (sisters-in-law), Messrs. S. Kennedy (Goulburn), F. McConnell. Hal. McConnell and Reg McConnell (nephews), Miss Molly and Maureen McConnell (nieces).
The A.L.P. Executive was represented by Messrs. P. J. Keller (president), J. J. Graves (secretary), J. B. Martin (organising secretary), B. Gould, W. C. Burnett, H. E. O 'Regan and S. Howey.
Others present included Messrs. J. S. Rosevear, D. Mulcahy, T. Sheehan and J. Gander. M's.H.R.; Messrs. J. Cahlll. C. Matthews and R. Gorman, M's.LA., and Mr. J. Culbcrt, M.L.C.
The A.L.P. office staff was represented by Miss E. Shearer and Miss M. Graves, and Labor Motor Funerals Ltd. by Mr. J. Payne. "The Labor Daily" was represented by Messrs. J. and W. Ormonde, the "Sunday Express" by Mr. F. Kelly, the Old-Age Pensioners' Association by Mrs. Huntress, and 2UW by Mr. F. E. Levy and Mr. Gilder.
Mr. A. Roberts represented the Milk and Ice Carters' Union, and Mr. W. Paton the Ironworkers' Union, Others present were Mr. A. Welfare (Matraville ALP.), Miss Donnelly (Ashfield A.L.P.), Mrs. Davies (Summer Hill AL.P.) Miss P. McCloskey, Mrs. F. Stewart, Messrs. G. Hulm and T. W. Hope, Mr. and Mrs. S. Wright, Mr. and Mrs. J. Burke, Miss M. Sullivan and Miss B. Sullivan.
Arrangements were in the hands of Labor Motor Funerals Ltd.7
