		<description><![CDATA[Carole, my grand father Frances Tayler joined the British ARMY IN 1901 And served in WW1. He was invalided out. Like this record, the army file goes on for pages, but when you come across a copy of a personal letter, the file becomes real and not just history. My grand dad&#039;s file had a letter he wrote asking for an award of the Silver medal which was like a good conduct award for service men leaving the army but it was rejected. Another letter was a request for a pension, also rejected.  A life long gone, but echoes of that life still live on. Yes, thank goodness for the internet and a special thanks to  the CWGC.]]></description>
