(By Clubman)
St. Marys A grade team continues to go further ahead with another good win over Blacktown. Capably handled by their captain, that diminutive half back Lance Thompson, the Greens were soon on their merry way.
Allan Robertson opened the scoring for the Greens, kicking a penalty goal, then, after some very good football, "Robbo" went in for a try, the conversion failing. The Greens led 5-3 at half time.
After "lemons" the Greens played brilliant football, at times the forwards and back combining as one, and it was not long before winger Johnny Widgett went in to score a try, giving the Greens an 8-3 lead.
The Greens then applied the pressure further, with the result that brilliant centre, Ted Lister, scored a good try, to put the issue beyond doubt with an 11-3 lead, which they held till the final whistle blew.6
