A very old resident of the Forbes district, in the person of Mr. William Barbe, who until about four months ago was manager of "Burra Burra" property, Tullamore, for the Australian Estates Company, passed away in "Crombie" private hospital, Forbes, last Friday, aged 68 years.
Since being retired by the company on a pension owing to ill-health, deceased went to Sydney for treatment, but for the past nine weeks he has been in Crombie with internal trouble, from which he passed away.
Deceased's wife predeceased him some 15 years ago, but he is survived by three sons and six daughters. The sons are Messrs. Reginald (Sydney), Stan (Grafton) and William (address unknown), while the daughters are Mesdames Frank Buttriss, Len Treanor and Dukes (Forbes), Hodges (Orange), James (Dubbo) and Dolman (Quirindi). Mrs. McDonald and Miss Barbe (Forbes) are sisters of the deceased, while brothers are Messrs. James (Jemalong) and "Bus" (Forbes).
The funeral on Saturday afternoon was largely attended and was to the Church of England cemetery at Forbes, Rev. A. E. White officiating at the graveside, while Mr. A. G. Jones directed the obsequies.6
